Building Strong Communities

Building strong communities takes more than just great building materials. That is why Rockett Lumber is proud to support a variety of community programs. Each of our locations supports local amateur sports teams in such varied areas as hockey, soccer, basketball, baseball and karate. In addition, we sponsor charities including the United Way, local Food Banks, and Habitat for Humanity.

About CNIB’s Lake Joseph Centre:
The CNIB Lake Joseph Centre is a fully accessible recreational facility situated on the north shore of Lake Joseph in the Muskoka Lakes Region. It has been quietly helping to enhance independence for people with vision loss for over 40 years. The programs offered there challenge visitors to participate in new and exciting experiences, while building the confidence and skills needed to face the many obstacles encountered in their everyday lives. Over time - 45 years to be exact - time and weather have deteriorated The CNIB Lake Joseph Centre. A major capital campaign called Restoring the Spirit has been launched to rebuild the entire camp facility. With the help of our partners Fram Building Group, AOS, CGC, Leon’s Insulation, Owen’s Corning, Rockett Lumber, Jeld-Wen, Opec Drywall Systems, Steelite and Moen amoung others, the Centre has been able to rebuild its six guest cabins. These state-of-the art facilitates will be fully accessible and open in time for the 2007 camp season. Thank you to our donors!
